Fingerprinting (again)

Hello readers, yes this is my second blog today but this time it's about Science and fingerprinting again. Anyways today we are seeing how people normally find fingerprints. So here is how we did it.

Aim: To learn how to lift hidden fingerprints from an object. 

1. Lifting and gathering fingerprints. 

Equipment:

1. Makeup brush. 

2. Coco powder.

3. Black paper. 

4. White powder.  

Method: 

We got a makeup brush and coco powder, and then we diped the makeup brush into the coco powder. Then we wiped down the table with the makeup brush and it's supposed to show the fingerprints on the table but it didn't work for us. After we got a black piece of paper then diped our finger in white powder. After we put our fingerprint on the paper! AND IT SHOWED OUR FINGERPRINT.

Sticktastic (THIS WAS INSANE)

 Hello readers, yesterday we sold some stickers and today i'm telling you about my experience on it! The reason we were selling stuff was to get money for the school trip to Jelly Park and for house points. Here is my experience on slling it. 

For a few weeks we had to brainstorm what our buisness idea was going to be. In my group I had, Freya and Liyahn and "we" decided to do stickers for our buisness. The first few days we thought about the items we needed and planed how we were going to make them. After that we checked how much money it was gonna be and then we strated making posters. Two posters were for people to see what stickers we were selling and how much it was and the big poster was the logo! After we finally finished the posters we finally made the stickers! The stickers was an easy process and simple to make!

I would say we weren't that succesfull because all the customers we got were just friends or people we knew. We did make alot of profit and sold alot of stickers. We ran out of demon slayer stickers quickly and not much people bought the pokemon.

Fingerprints

HELLO PEOPLE! Today in science class we saw what our fingerprints look like! Here are some facts before I show you mine. 

The three types of fingerprints are: 

Loops, Arche and Whirl.

Loops are the most common type of fingerprints, whirls are the second popular type of fingerprints and Arche are the least common type of fingerprints.    

65% Of the population have loops.

35% Of the population have whirls.

5% Of the population have arches. 

Steps: 

1. Turn a piece of paper into four. 

2. Dip your thumb into ink.

3. Inprint your fingerprint onto the paper. 

4. See with a microscope.

5. See what you are. 

Okay here is the big reveal of what I AM! Not gonna lie but I think i'm gonna be loop, I HAVE'NT SEEN YET! Okay, I was loop. BORING.

Taking Care Of Yourself

 Hello my beautiful people! Today in health class we are learning how to take care of yourself. You should be talking care of yourself already, but this is how you do it "Properly"! Either way always take care of yourself!

Here are some information about taking care of yourself! 

Facts: 

1. Doing Physical Activitys lowercreases a chance of you getting heart problems. 

2. Pysical Activitys are better for people that have diabetes. 

3. If you excersice regually, your hearts gets bigger and stronger. 

Ways I participate in Physical Activity: 

1. I walk the dogs around the block, almost everyday. 

2. I play outside, with my dogs or maybe a ball for about 20 minutes, sometimes.

3. Sport every friday at school. (Unless im sick)

If you don't like sports, the best thing to do instead is to go for weekly runs or walks. Plus, if you have a dog you could walk them which helps their health aswell. Sports isn't everyones thing.

Baking Sodas

Hello readers, today we had Science. In Science we are making sherbet and of course we have to know how to do it before making it. Here is what we had to know!

Baking Soda is also known as Sodium Bicarbonate.Due to its abrasive and cleaning properties it is used as a raising agent in baking, as a household cleaner and in a number of other ways.

My 10 uses of Baking Soda is: 

Making Sherbet:

We need to write down our equipment and the step we will go through to make our sherbet. 

Once we have completed the materials and steps we can make sherbets. 

While you are eating your sherbet you can answer five questions at the end. 

equipment:

1. Sugar

2. Baking Soda

3. Raro Crystals

4. Critic Acid

5. Tartartic acid

Steps:

1. Add baking soda, sugar and citric acid together in a bowl. 

2. Add the raro crystals and tarticic acid. 

3. Add all ingrediants together and place the plastic bag. 

4. Mix it well together and eait it, Yum.

Recipe: 

1 teaspoon of powedered drink crystals. 

1/4 teaspoon of critic acid.

1 teaspoon of icing sugar. 

1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda. 

Findings: 

1 Which two ingrediants in the sherbet are involved in the chemical reation? 

2. Which ingrediants are not involved?

Sticktastic (Buisness)

 Hello my Beautie Sticks, in wga we are doing a buisness! For the buisness you have to be in a group of 4 and if you're lucky then maybe a group of 3. I'm groups with Freya, Liyahn and Risha. I am the production person, it basically means that I make the adverts and posters. Liyahn is the money person, she just looks after the money, Freya is the ceo (The big Boss) And finally Risha is the other person, I forgot the name, she just makes everything right. 

In our buisness we are making stickers, it's called StickTastic. We sell like anime stickers and other ones. Our other idea was to sell christmas jars and stress balls, but it would be way to much money.

Chillie

Hello my beautiful people, today in science we are doing experiments on chillie. Chillie is very spicy just in case you didn't know. Here is what we are doing and how to do it. 

Equipment. 

1. Hot chillie sauce. 

2. Popsicle stick. 

3. Soda water and milk. 

4. Timer. 

Instructsions.

1. Get your equipment ready. 

2. Get a drop of hot sauce on your popsicle stick.  

3. Lick the Hot Chillie sauce. 

4. Start the timer. 

5. After 2mins, drink your hot sauce. 

6. After 5mins, hot hot is your mouth?

7. Repeat with a different drink. 

Results:

Chidren shouldn't watch tv

 Hello readers! In class we are learing persuasive writing. Persuasive writing is trying to convience or persuade people to agree with your opinion. So now that you know what it is here is my persuasive writing! I hope you agree with me!

I know for sure that children should most defiently be aloud to watch TV. I strongly feel children build great imaginations from TV, they learn new things and maybe even learn their speach.

Firstly, children and easily influenced by watching. Which makes it easy to learn how to talk or simply speak. By listening to their favourite songs they learn to sing or speak. 

Additionally, kids increase their imagination from TV. By seeing other peoples creativity, children grow and larger imagination. I mean, you wouldn't have many friends if you didn't have a gretter imagination because nobody wants to be friends with a person thats no fun.

Finally, I'm sure you believe me when I say children should watch TV. Plus kids love learning! By watching TV you learn lots of new things. Like math or even reading!

In conclusion, children should enjoy TV and have a great childhood. A Larger imagination, learn new things and even learn to speak. Children deserve to have a good and be able to watch TV.

Science term 4

 Hello readers! Today im telling you guys about how to make bacteria. I hope you guys actually ready this but probably not. Anyways here! 

Aim: To learn about bacteria and how they grow. 

Equipment:

1. Agar dish

2. Cotton bud swab

3. vivid pen

Method

1. Collect  bacteria on a cotton bud swab from tabs, coputer, keyboards and desks. 

2. Divide the agar in half by a line opn the lid. 

3. Wipe the swab onto the agar solution. 

4. Put the petri dish into the incubator for 1 week to allow the bacteria to grow.  

5. Draw and label a bacteria.  

6. Draw and label a scientific diagram of the experiment.

Maui And The Fish

 HELLO MY BEAUTFUL PEOPLE! Today in drama class well we just have to make a blog post about out Tableau. Which is basically just a freezeframe as something. I've done a blog like this but whatever. Here is a photo if you need a example. 

Okay so basically we were trying to be a village? Well obviously we weren't ready. The good thing about this is my beautiful face. In this photo we probably could've done better like be ready in time or even fancier prepared. So basically I was the house with Risha, Heidi and Beathany. And Enzo was the road because hes short.

Okay in this photo me, Enzo, Liyahn, Kaley and Heidi where doing the first scene in maui and the fish. I think I was trying to be a cat or something. But it was the scene of Maui hiding behind the kayak. This is a good example of diffrent levels because Maui was short enough to hide behind.

Sup guys I hope you have been having the bestest day! Also its the last week of school and at the end its my birthday aswell. Anyways today im drama class we are learning about Maui and the fish. The story is just about a guy who finds a fish basically. 

Anyways so in class we were playing some games. Like, bippity bippity bop, Charlies angles and toaster. They were pretty fun. Bippity Bippity Bop is basically where you say to someone "Bippity, Bippity Bop." And the person has to say "Bop" before you say it. Charlies Angles is a game where the two people beside you have to pose like they are holding guns and you. Toaster is where the two people beside you and you have to make a toaster form. 

The last thing we played was where we had to make a freezeframe of a scene from Maui And The Fish. Me, Enzo, Liyahn, Heidi and Kaley made a freezeframe of them kiyaking. Here is a beautiful photo of it.

Freezeframe

 Howdy people! (again) Today in drama class we played this game called freezeframe. It was pretty fun I guess. Let me explain what the game is. 

The game is where Miss says a number and you have to make a group of that amount of people. With all the people in your group you will have to make a certain picture. Most of the time I was with Heidi, Enzo and Liyahn. The first round we had to make a sunrise.

My Pepeha

Howdy my people! I hope you guys are having the time of your life. But if you were then why would you be reading this? I dont know but anyways, today i'm gonna talk to you about My Pepeha! If you dont know what a Pepeha is then here. 

A Pepeha is basically just a sheet of paper that has information about you. The information it has is, your name, your family name, where you were born, your river and your mountain! But all the words are in maori.

Shark Project

Howdy people! Long time no see huh? Well I hope you guys had a nice lockdown cause ill tell you right now I didn't. But with the title, today I'm gonna show you my beautful shark work. It was pretty easy not gonna lie.

 Howd my little chickens. I hope your day is good so far. But lets get to what the blog is about. This week we were learning how to introduce yourself in japanese. It was pretty dificult because I always forgot :/. The words we learnt were.

"Ogenki desu ka" which means "are you energetic/healty/fine" In english.

To reply you would say "Hai, Genki desu" Which translates to "Yes, I am fine/energetic/healty" In english. 

"Onamae wa nan desu ka" which means "what is your name?" In english. 

To reply to that you would say. "watashi wa (name) desu" which translates to "I am (name)" In english. 

If your a boy you would say "Boku wa (name) desu" Which translates to "I am (name)" In english.

Christchurch Olympic

 Hello readers! I hope you are having a brilliant day today because im so glad im back! Anyways, today in Wga class we got sent some activities. We only had to do one today but I tried doing two. Uhm anyways, I did the logo one. The logo one is where you make a Chrischurch Olympic logo. So obviously I'm going to show you mine.

Here is it! 

Basically in this logo I mixed the Chrischurch CIty Council logo and the olympic logo together. It was pretty simple as well. Then I just added some of the New Zealand fethers. I wanted to add others stuff but I thought it would be to crowded.

Ginger Bear And Yeast (INSANE)

 Ginger Bear And Yeast? 

Hello readers, today i'm going to be telling you about ginger bear and yeast. In science we are searching about what is yeast and ginger bear. So here is some simple facts and just stuff about them. (story at the end)

Yeast is in lots of food like, bread, cake, pizza and ect. But the bad thing about yeast is it is actually a member of the bacteria family (gross right?) Yeast is mainly made for food mostly dough foods but also made in drinks. 

Ginger beer doesn't actually have beer in it. Ginger beer comes from a country called England. Ginger beer was made in the late 1970's.   

Now time for the story! (ITS INSANE) So basically I was in the lounge with my mum and my aunty. We were having a nice conversation about stuff. But my belly button got a bit itchy so of course I scratched my belly button. My aunty saw me scratching my belly button so she wanted to look at it. AND GUESS WHAT! I HAD A YEAST INFECTION IN MY BELLY BUTTON. So at my auntys house she gave me some cream and it was all better! (INSANE RIGHT?)

Friday Blog

 Hello readers! Today's our Friday blog, and today I'm gonna be telling you about my unit called 'Outstanding'! 

For our Hurumanu class,  we have been learning about protests. Every protest we learnt about we would put on a couple of google slide called 'Outstanding.' Cause that's what this term is about! I think I've finished but I haven't shown the teacher yet. Before I show you the slide here is some protests and facts about them. 

Kate Sheppard was an intelligent girl who peacefully protested for women rights. She is also the person on the $10 note.

The Dawn Raids were named this because police would go to people's houses (mainly pacific islanders) and would storm inside and ask people for their passports. But if people didn't have their passports they would take them away from New Zealand or send them to jail As over-stayers. This is a part of NZ protest history that Jacinda Arden recently apologised to the country about. 

Nuclear-free zone was a protest about french people testing nuclear bombs on Mururoa. People would go and protest on yachts. But the french didn't like that and would attack to yachts. But eventually they stopped.

Milk Plastic!

 Hello readers! In science we are learning about how to make plastic. Today we are doing an experiment with milk. We will be turning milk into plastic! But before we do that we will need materials, steps, equipment ect. Here is the writing!

Aim: Make milk into plastic. 

Here is a video of it. 

steps: 

1. Pour one cup of milk into a microwaveable container or pot. 

2. Heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove until steaming. 

3. Add 4 teaspoons of white vinegar into a mug. 

4. Add the hot milk to the mug with the vinegar. 

5. Stir the mixture with a spoon. 

6. Stack four layers of paper towels on the surface that is safe to get damp. 

7. Scoop out the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towel.

8. Fold the paper towels over the curds and press down to absorb excess liquid. 

9. Knead all the curds together into a ball of dough.  

10. Shape all of your doughs. 

11. Leave your creations on a paper towel and leave overnight :). 

Equipment: 

Stove, oven or microwave. 

Measuring cup.

Measuring spoon. 

Milk (1 cup)

Pot or microwaveable container. 

white vinegar. 

paper towels. 

spoon.

mug.

Optional: colouring, glitter or dough shapes. 

How was the consistency of the milk: At the end it didn't look nothing like plastic to me but before they left it over night it kinda looked like kinetic sand.

Rehearsal process.

 Hello readers, today i'm telling you about my play that i'm working on. We had to get in a group and pick a play to do but me and my group. Heidi, Liyahn, enzo, risha and faysal made our own. Here is what its about. 

My story.

Heidi and shylah ship lenzo.	Shylah confesses to Heidi.	Heidi tells her parents that she’s panromantic.
Parents get a divorce.	Heidi moves in with her dad	Heidi and Shylah get married.

My role is basically just the main characters wife. Liyahns roles is the main girls friend and also the mum. Same with Enzos except he's the dad. Heidi is the main character and Faysal is the camera man.

Fizzy Drink And Mentos

 hello reading, i'm back with another science experiment. This time we were doing one of coke, lemonade and sparkling duet and mentos, and of course we know what that means. Anyways here is the step, equipment and yeah. 

Aim: To see which fizzy drink reacts the most with mentos lollies.

Hypothesis: I think that the coke with fizz the most and the one that will fizz. 

Equipment: 

1. Mentos 

2. coke

3. lemonade

4. sparkling duet

5. beaker

6. ruler

Method: 

1. Collected and set up the beaker and ruler. 

2. get the 1st liquid and put 100ml in the beaker

3. Put the mentos into the liquid 

4.measure the hight of this fuzz

5. repeat step 1-4 for each liquid

Hello readers, of course this is another science experiment. In class we are learning about Chromatography. Its where you separate colours I think. This is what we had to write down today. 

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture using a liquid.  

Materials: 

1. Boiling Tube 

2. Marker

3. Water

4.  Special Paper

5. Scissors 

6. Test Tube Stand

Process: 

step 1: Cut up the filter paper in strips ready to write on the felt pens.

step 2: Rule a line 1 cm from the bottom of the paper strip. 

step 3: Put about 8ml of water into the bottom of the boiling tube.

step 4: Put two coloured pen dots on the pencil line. 

step 5: Drop the paper strip into the boiling tube and once it is touching the water at the bottom you can crease the top of the paper over. 

step 6: Watch, take 2 photos and observe.

Definitions:

Capillary Action: another term for capillarity.

Filter Paper: a piece of porous paper for filtering liquids, used especially in chemical processes and coffee-making.  

Solvent: able to dissolve other substances.

Conclusion: 

What colours changed the most? Orange

How many new colours could you see? Brown

Which colour travelled the furthest? Green

Skittles

 Chromatography is a technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium in which the components move at different rates.  

Aim: To separate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography. 

Materials: 

1. 5 Skittles

2. Water

3. Petri dish 

4. Beaker 

Process: 

step 1: Get your equipment set up ready to pour the 50mls of water into the petri dish with the skittles. 

step 2: Place the skittles into the petri dish around the edges. 

step 3: Pour 50mls water gently into the middle of the petri dish. 

step 4: Watch as the water removes the dye from the skittles. See which colour makes the middles fastest. 

step 5: Record your results on the table below. 

Movement And Mind

 Hello readers, today i'm telling you about all the things we have been doing in drama. We have mainly been making masks and preforming. Recently we have been doing plays for performing. But right now i'm gonna be talking about the masks. 

Masks: My mask is quite weird. I got the idea of the mask from a youtuber. The youtuber is called "dream." The design of my mask is just boring if i'm being honest. My mask just has a smiley face on it and blood. The main purpose of the blood is when I get killed in the performance.

3D Shapes

 Hello readers, today of course i'm blogging about 3D Shapes. In hurumanu class we were making 3D Shapes. Sadly my group couldn't do the type we wanted to. The people that were in my group was. Heidi, Risha and Liyahn. We wanted to make safari animals but our safari animals wasn't there so we had to do someone elses. Which was just some random buildings. Sadly I can't find them.

 Hello readers, this blog is just about what we had to write down in science. Me and my class made an experiment on gummy bears. We were weighing the gummy bears before and after putting them in different type of water. Here is my results.

FINDINGS

The water that was included in the first gummy bear petri dish made the gummy bear change from a dry weight of 2.31

To a wet weight of 5.44 the difference between the two weights was 3.13 this means that the gummy bear obsorted this amount through the process of osmosis. 

The salt water gummy bear petri dish had a change of a dry weight of 2.37 to a wet weight of 3.41 the difference between these weights was 1.04.

The sugar water solution in the petri dish with the gummy bear made the gummy bear weigh 3.33 this means it obsorted 0.94 water in total. 

The gummy bear that changed the most in the water was the gummy bear in the water petri dish.

Hello Readers here is the work that my class in science have been doing. All we had to do is just write down what was on the tv. Its just about Gummy Bears growning I guess.  

Gummy Bear Osmosis

Aim: 

I want to find out what happens to Gummy Bears when we put them into different liquids.

Predictions: 

I think that the Gummy Bears will grow in the liquids. 

Method:

three solutions - water, sugar and salt. 

Four Gummy Bears of the same colour. 

Two Petri Dishes. 

Marked Pen. 

Electronic Balance. 

Measuring Cylinder. 

Beaker. 

Solvent	Dry	Wet
Water	2.31
Salt Water	2.37
Super Water	2.39

Steps: 

1. Get your equipment.

2. Label Petri dishes with DRY, WATER, SUGAR WATER.

3. Weigh your gummy bears and record their weight on Petri dish. 

4. Add 40mL, of the solution into the Petri dish.

OMG THIS IS EPIC

 Talofa readers, today i'm gonna tell you about my Samoan animation. The animation is about "The Legend Of Samoan Tatau." Its technically just a traditional story. Hands On Fire

Aim: 

To safety light my hands on fire. 

List and explain 4 ways of doing this safely.

1. Goggles.

2. fire extinguisher.

3. Hair tied back. (if long)

4.  Listen to teacher. (VERY INPORTANT!)

Equipment: 

1. Detergent

2. Lighter

3. Safety Glasses

4. Gas

5. Tray

6. hose

Instructions:

1. Collect your equipment

2. Put some water into the tray. 

3. Squirt some determent into the water. 

4. Put on safety glasses.

5. Tie up any long hair.

6. Take off any jewellery.

7. Wet your hands, wrists and arms.  

8. Bubble the gas into the water. 

9. Scoop the bubbles but not the water. 

10: Hold the bubbles in front of your face arm locked. 

FLOODS

 Hello readers, in my Hurumanu class we are learning about floods. So in this blog post i'm gonna be saying facts about the floods that has recently occurred last week I think. Here are some beautiful facts. 

Ashburton has been flooding recently because of the heavy rain. Mostly everyone in Ashburton had to evacuate because of how bad it was. Met Service had a cold red warning which means that Canturbury is expected to bring up to 400mm Between Friday to Monday (29-31May).

The government confiscated land. Te Whiti set up a village at Parihaka. Taranaki trpibes fought the government to try to keep their land. Parihaka ploughmen up the farms of settlers. government troops arrested Te Whiti and Tohu.

Geometry

 Hello Grandmas and Grandpas. Today i'm going to be telling you about what we are learning about this week. This week we are learning about geometry. Geometry is technically just shapes in 1D, 2D, 3D and 4D. But this week all we learned about was 2D. 

All we had to do this week was copy what was off the board. Of course we did learn some stuff but not a lot. We learnt about different shapes, how many side and how many angles they have. On the right we always have to do the writing and on the left we do the drawing. Here is my work.

Name Bugs

Hello Grandmas and Grandpas!

Today i'm going to talk to you about NAME BUGS! Let me tell you what they are first. Then I'll tell you how to make it. 

It's where you write your name down but you connect all the letters together. Then you do it on the other side of the page, and after you should have your own weird bug. You give it eyes and add little details and BOOM! Done!

To make it all, you will need is either a book or a piece of paper. First you will have to fold the piece of paper in half and then write  your name down, but all the letters are together. After that, you turn the page over to the other side and go up to a window and re write it on the other side.

Now that I have told what it is and how to make it.  Here is my beautiful work.

Lab Equipment

 Hello Grandmas and Grandpas today i'm telling you what the equipment you will need in a lab. This is really important to know. Of course i'm doing this because i'm in science now. Here is the equipment.  

• Test tube.

Use: To do any experiments. 

•  beaker. 

Use: They help to measure any chemicals or liquids.  

• Conical Flask. 

Use: Has a thinner neck to boil liquids and has measurements on the side. 

• Bunsen Burner

Use: They are used for boiling or heating things. They are also used with gas, heatproof mat, tripod and gauze mat.

Laboratory Rules

 Hello grandmas and grandpas today i'm telling you about laboratory rules. The reason how I know these rules is because I have science class now. 

• Do NOT run in the Science Lab. 
• Do NOT eat or drink in the Science Lab. 
• Be sensible in the Science Lab. 
• Put your bag under the desks in the Science Lab. 
• Do NOT taste anything you are unsure of in the Science Lab. 
• Listen to the teachers if you are in the Science Lab.

Lino Block

 Hello Grandmas and Grandpas, today i'm going to be telling you about Lino Block. Lino Block is when you cut out a drawing or a logo or something and print it onto a piece of paper. In art we were designing our own logo for our own store. My Design was a symbol of a thumbs up. The store that I designed was a restaurant called "feeling good" and a thumbs up would be the logo. My one was a thumbs up but I cut it out wrong.

Ice Cream Cones

Hello grandmas and grandpas, today i'm going to be telling you about ice cream cones. In class we were learning about inventions. The inventions we were learning about this week was "accidental inventions" Which meaning what I said. The inventions were made by accident. So because we were learning about we obviously had to do work with it. We just had to write down the answer to questions like "where was it made" or "When was it made" those type of questions. Here is the story of how the ice cream cone was made. 

The first ice cream cone was produced in 1896 by Italo Marchiony. Because of ice cream's popularity, the vendor ran out of dishes. Hamwi saw an easy solution to the ice cream vendor's problem.  He quickly rolled one of his wafer-like waffles in the shape of a cone, or cornucopia, and gave it to the ice cream vendor.

STOMP Work.

 Hello readers today i'm gonna be telling you about what we did for our wga. We have been learning about music. The music our wga has been learning recently is a group name called STOMP. They just make songs out of normal objects. So because we have been learning about that we also had to make our own music out of objects. We had to go in a group of 4. I was with Skyla, Eduarda and Canada. Our beat that we did went like this. “Bun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun,dun. HEY HEY! What?” Yeah it was really boring. The objects we used to make the music was the abacus, bean bags and a smeeredrum. Here is the music we made.
